Forest Queen by Industrial-Forest Forest Queen by Industrial-Forest
Finishing an old sketch.
First real attempt at painting a person....hope its not too anatomically incorrect. :P
The queen herself and all her decorations and items are painted on just one layer! (not recommended DX)

Hope you like it!!!

I really iike the clothes and the background! I really really love your swirly designs, they are so beautifull! and the forrest-cathedral idea is one I'm very fond of :aww: her headdress is awesome!

She doesn't look out of proportion to me. I'm amazed that you did her all on one layer!

I think her eyes look a little flat or something, there's something about her face that makes it seem like a different person painted it from the rest of the picture, I think it's that the rest has more depth to it or something...hmm...perhaps it's that the blue is kind of bright and flat in a place that looks like it would be more overshaddowed. Usually the color of eyes can hardly be seen from that distance...maybe a little more variation and darker bits there in the eyes would help? Maybe a little highlight to make them look wet? I don't know, not being a painter myself. It could also just be the quality and size here on the internet, or perhaps it's the sharp clean edges of the circles on her cheeks that are actually doing it....not sure. In any case, I still love it!

Thank you! Actually, I made wet highlights in her eyes but i guess it kind of dissapeared when i downsized the image for upload...
Another thing is what kind of screen you are looking at, for example im now looking at the picture on a laptop and the colors are very pale, and not like on the regular monitor i painted it on, where the colors are rich and sharp.
Anyway thanks for commenting, i appreciate your critique!!!:)

aww yeah! I totally know what you mean with screens, I am on a laptop. I'm also always irked by the way something can look bright an beautifull in photoshop but anything else you open it in looks dull and washed out, sigh...

anyways, once more I really love all the detail of those swirly patterns you do :D

I like colours, queen's face and her outfit; of course, I could tell that "her left hand seems a little bit weird", but - hey, hands are always most difficult part, and besides if it's a first attempt and everything was painted on just one layer, than it's very-very good. (:

it's a private matter of the author, so if you felt so, then it should be so. ;)
