Wishing you all a great weekend! Also hope you Norwegians had a great 17th of May. It was a warm and sunny day where i live.
Have lots of things and projects going on so i don't submit so often. Have also a big painting i have worked on for a very long time that i don't seem to be able to finish. Im a bit stuck but will hopefully be able to show it to you very soon.
I just edited the description in this painting, and it seems you are getting it in your inboxes even though i DID NOT enable the "notify your watchers" check box. Whats up with that, are you seeing it in your inbox?? O.o
...you find out that your monitor is not calibrated correctly and all your paintings the last couple of years looks like crap....ok maybe not like crap but not hundred percent the way they are suppose to look. My monitor was a bit too dark, something to do with the black point...but now that its callibrated more correctly many areas that is supposed to be dark or black, do now look grey or are lit up and a lot of ugly details are showing, that are not suppose to be visual.
Like for example my delicious painting "Unicorn Dinner". You see under the table? Its supposed to be comletely dark under there and no legs visible...now its lit up and lots of ugly lines showing because i did not paint their legs properly because they where not supposed to be visible. Tell me how you see it!
Going to maybe upload fixed versions of several paintings in a few days.
My Intuos4 pen fell apart, again, but this time it didn't work anymore when i put it together. At least i have my old Wacom Graphire4 to paint with in the meantime. That pen has also seen better days, but works fine.
I listen to alot of music while doing my artwork, both soft and hard, where bands use music from their own culture and blends it with modern music and heavy guitars to create a beautiful, melodic and epic sound. Using violins, accordion, flutes, bagpipes, synth, orchestra etc. -Known as Folk Metal, the most known bands have nordic/viking themed songs, which i love, but...
But what i want to show you are bands from maybe more exotic parts of the world (for me at least), and which is not so common in that genre, who makes music inspired by their culture - Japanese and Arabic.
I especially love when a band sings in their own language.
I think also the visuals are very important in such bands, with costumes or traditional outfits inspired by the theme, for that extra epic!
This is probably not for everyone, but here is just a small taste of what i like:
Band: D Song: Huang Di Japanese band, though Chinese theme on this particular one.
Band: Kagrra, Song: Satsuki A more softer and very beautiful song and video, from Japan.
Band: Myrath Song: Under Siege Country: Tunisia Arabic sound, for those who like prince of persia A bit more heavy.
Shout for more!
So, what music do you listen to, to make you inspired?
